Laos P.D.R

Laos, there are 17 provices, it shares border with 5 countries as: THAILAND, VIETNAM, CAMBODIA, MYANMAR and CHINA. Laos became a full member of ASEAN in 23/7/1997 and Laos was established 2/12/1975. there are 3 ethnic groups as: LAO SOUNG(upland), LAO THEUNG(middleland) and LAO LOUM(lowland)







LUANGPRABANG heritage city
LUANGPRABANG city was accepted as UNESCO's world heritage site in 12/1995, heritage house including 2 being in separate location in set up to help preserve on the conversation of the city. LUANGPRABANG one the capital of Laso nestle on a peninsula at the confluence of NAMKHANE and MEKONG river it is surounded by steep mountains giving it a sense of isolation and mystery but its river location has ensured its long standing links to outside world, LUANGPRABANG's importance as historicial and culture site been acknowledged in UNESCO's of the town of the world heritage site in 1995.
NONGKHIAW ( MEUANG NGOI)
Divided by the name OU River, used to be known as MEUANG NGOI  or NONGKHIAW on the western bank of the river is now the more predominant part of the town as it has the boat pier. MEUANG NGOI  on the other sideof the bridge offers a great view of the river. This picturegue village surrounded by lime stonecliff is situated half way between LUANGPRABANG and MEUANGKHUA From there; it takes two days over difficult roads to reach SAMNEUA, 300 away.


PHONGSALI - MEUANGKHOUA
PHONGSALI, the nortern most provinces is also one of the most isolated and untouched in the country. In the forest one may still encounter rare and endangered species of animals and plants.PHONGSALI is a peculiar amall town with paved streets and an abandance of flowers, its  1,500 meter altitude makes for cool weather and heavy rainfall during the wet season.MEUANGKHUA is located on  a hill at the mouth of Nam OU and NANPHARK; this is a transit point for those travelling via the river and the high way.

LUANGNAMTHA - MEUANGSING
a small town situated in a valley and surrounded by rice field and deforested mountains, LUANGNAMTHA is like so many places in this area recovering from war with a large modern quarter and an older sector. and MEUANGSING is located 58 km from LUANGNAMTHA, MEUANGSING is a charming little town despite indications that the modern world is quikly making inroads. the morning market, one of the most colorful in the region, attracts a great variety of tribal minorities, including the AKA(IKOR) with their short skirts and headdress decorated with old bank o indochina coins.
PHONSAVANH(plain of jar)
Often called XIENGKHOUANG(the name of the former capital almost destryed by US bombing) is a commercial boom town. the vast ot stretch of land around PHONSAVANH is home to one of the greatest archerlogical mysteries on earth. How and why the several hundreds were stone jars left scattered over the area? who put them there? where did the jars originate?



VIENTIANE capital city

Vientiane is the capital of Laos and is the biggest city in the country, Vientiane is the center of administration economic culture communications and bussiness for the country and there are 9 district, In Laos's capital there are so many places to relax and holiday as: THATLUANG STUUPA, MONUMENT,  HORPHRAKEO...



PAKSE

located 770 km south of Vientiane, at the confluence of the MEKONG and SEDON river, PAKSE i an important transit point for trade between Laos - Vietnam - Cambodia and thailand. WATPHOU, sometime referred to as"Little ANGKOR" is by far the most imprssive KHMER ruin in Laos. begun during the CHENLA kingdom (6-8 cebturis). MEKONG water fall(KHONEPHAPHENG) near the end of its 1,600 km course through Laos, just before reaching Cambodia, the Mekong splits into numerous branches to form a labyrinth of islands.

VANGVIENG

Dubbed the "Small lao GUIKIN", VANGVIENG is located 156 km north of Vientiane on the road to LUANGPRABANG (highway13). the town is famous for its limestone cliffs with caves and caverns, which are found in an area 2 km to the southwest.
